How Does B Generous Work?
It’s simple!
- Find your nonprofit. Look for the Donate Now, Pay Later™ button on your favorite nonprofit's website, and wherever your nonprofit raises funds.
- Choose your donation amount. Decide how much you want to donate, and over how many months you'd like to pay it. Your donation is received right away, but you pay over time.
- Finalize your donation, pay nothing today. Remember! You'll get a full tax deductible receipt right away. There are no fees or interest charges. It's free to use!
Is B Generous a nonprofit?
Nope. We’re a regular company working with nonprofits to help make the world a better place for all. And soon, we’ll be going through the process to become a certified B Corp, which is a designation that shows we adhere to certain social impact criteria and ethical business practices.
What are the tax implications and benefits of a B Generous transaction?
Most nonprofits who use the Donate Now, Pay Later™ platform will have 501(c)(3) status, meaning they are tax-exempt nonprofits recognized by the IRS, and they issue tax-deductible receipts. In fact, right after you’ve made your donation through B Generous, you’ll receive a full tax-deductible receipt from the nonprofit, even though you won’t have yet paid any money out of pocket. You can also access your tax-deductible receipts at any time through your B Generous donor portal. The good news is, your tax receipt will be for the full gross amount of the tax deductible portion of your donation!
You simply pay off your donation over time with no fees, interest, or hassle.
There may be a couple nonprofits that have a certain exemption status or type/portion of donation that is not eligible to be tax-deductible. It is always best to check with your nonprofit if you would like any additional information on what portion of your donation will be tax-deductible.
What happens if the nonprofit I donated to shuts down?
We evaluate every nonprofit that signs up to use B Generous and try our best to make sure something like this will not happen. If it does, don’t worry! Just let us know right away and we can see what we are able to do to assist.
